About The Book
Lt. Raymond Novak prefers the pulpit to the cockpit, but at least his stateside job training B-17 pilots allows him the luxury of a personal life. As he courts Helen Carlisle, a young war widow and mother who conceals her pain under a frenzy of volunteer work, the sparks of their romance set a fire that flings them both into peril. After Ray leaves to fly a combat mission at the peak of the air war over Europe, Helen takes a job in a dangerous munitions yard and confronts an even graver menace in her own home. Will they find the courage to face their challenges? And can their young love survive until blue skies return?

Aprils Lifestyle Review
This was my first WWII era read and I could not put it down. There are installments before it that I am going to read as well. You do not have to read the first tow in order to thoroughly enjoy and understand this book. This is the third in The Wings of Glory Series. Helen Carlisle and Ray Novak are two interesting characters, Helen has not had it easy and the life that woman lead back in the 40's is so strange to me.
Helen has a great deal of faith in god her life was not easy.. This book has a bit of smooching in it but is totally a G rated book, there is not a whole lot of sexy in it. Ray and Helen both have obstacles to overcome. The writer writes about Helen's abuse and the pain of that secret. You will root for the characters and be happily engaged through the whole book.
Thank you Litfuse for the opportunity to review this book. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
