Sweeter Than A Birdsong
In this second in the award-winning Saddler's Legacy series, Rosslyn Elliott has written a stirring novel of hope and faith inspired by real historical people and events. With Ben Hanby, a genius composer, Kate Winter, one of the first female college graduates in America, and John Parker, an ex-slave who risked his life time and again to help fugitive slaves.
Sweeter than Birdsong is full of real heroes to inspire us. "I hope readers will find a renewed sense of strength in their own lives," says Elliott, "knowing that change is possible, and our efforts matter. I want them to remember these unique, brave people in history who left us a shining example of what it means to live out one's beliefs with passion and commitment."
Aprils Lifestyle Show Review
I could not put this book down and read it in a day and a half. Kate Winter is an awesome character that I was cheering for right away. A Beautiful girl who is quiet and shy but very strong she learns. Her mother is strong and does her best to control Kate. She wants her to marry a wealthy man which has Kate planning on escaping. If you have read the first book of this series you will be in for a treat.
Ben Hanby is another character in the book that I loved right away. He is passionate about the Underground Railroad and slavery. I have always loved reading books that revolved around this era. Ben is a musical genius with a loving family that enters into Kates life through a getaway into the city that changes everything.
Pick up this book you will love it and if you have read any of Rosslyn prior books you will be wanting another story written about this family.
So to celebrate the music in all of us, Rosslyn and Thomas Nelson are hosting this "sweet giveaway".

There's no happier comment for an author to hear than "I read this book in a day and a half." :-) Thank you so much, April, for your very kind comments! If you have a chance (and I know you're very busy, with this wonderful blog) I would be grateful if you could post your comments on Amazon. This is a challenging time for new authors--many readers are reluctant to take a risk on someone they don't know. Every positive review helps. Thanks again!
